Do I Need Planning Permission?
If your house extension, loft conversion or property development is within your permitted development allowance, and does not infringe the guidelines below, then in most case you will not need planning permission.
Inclusive to my service, I can arrange planning permission procedures that are required, surveying all areas involved in the construction, for complete peace of mind. It is worthwhile to establish if you will need planning permission or not, in order to account for time you may have to wait before work can commence.
When you need to apply
- Any adding or developing to flats or maisonettes (regardless if they are converted homes)
- Constructing an accommodation unit that is separate from your current building
- Converting a separate unit from your current building into accommodation (includes garages and caravans)
- Converting part of your existing home for separate residence of other members of the public
- Any development that will be in turn used for commercial purposes
- Any construction that breaches your current planning terms for your home
- Constructions that may obstruct the view of road users
- Constructions that would involve new or wider access to a trunk or classified road
When you do not need to apply
- Changes or alterations to the inside of your home
- Small alterations on the outside, for example wiring and security alarms
- Other small changes, such as small walls and fences
